Suggestions for the utilization of salt, which can also be with minimal effort and preparation, used at home for the purpose of enhancing ones wellbeing.
The Viennese Doctor, Franz de Paula Wirer (1771 – 1844) was not the first to be engaged with salt and its various effects, but he did it more thoroughly and profound than anybody else before him.
He was the first one to realize that at this time, the by now well established medical brine cures, did not have to occur at the ocean exclusively, in order to be successful. Therapies with local brine and other treatments using salt from the Austrian mountains could be equally effective as any cure found at the ocean. As a result, this Viennese gentleman soon became founder of the first curing and bathing establishment. From this development a little place in Salzkammergut became the famous Bad Ischl. |
